Cheese Coating - Various Colours & sizes
A great way to protect your cheese yet still allow it to "breathe".
Simply paint the coating over the top and sides of the cheese using a pastry brush, allow to dry and then paint the base. Additional layers can then be applied to thickness required.
Available in either 1kg handy buckets or 10kg buckets for larger users and the following popular colours:
- Red - which gives a dramatic finish to many continental varieties as well as lots of local 'artisan special' cheeses too.
- White - ideal for 'rolled' cheeses, as the coating dries to a totally transparent film allowing attractive surfaces to remain visible.
- Yellow - for 'Gouda' style cheeses
- Green
- Black

This cheese coating is absolutely at the centre of my cheesemaking. Unlike wax it breathes so it allows a process not unlike clothbound but easier and less messy. I use 2 coats which in a domestic setting is fine. I know a professional cheesemaker who uses nine !!

I love your cheese coating , I've got the clear and now the red . It's easy to brush on you just leave it to dry adding a second coat if needed. my ' cheese cave ' ( wine fridge 😁) helps the wax to set quicker. Annette
